What Is Music Therapy?
Who Can Receive Music Therapy?
Can My Services Be Covered By Insurance?
Music Therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized noon-musical goals. These goals can be physical, emotional, cognitive, social, communicative, or educational. Only board-certified music therapists can practice music therapy.
Anyone can receive music therapy, from birth through end-of-life. It is important that the individual enjoys music -- whether that be simply listening to music or taking part in creating music.
We are considered an out-of-network provider and can provide you a superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

About Me
Alyssa Sy, MT-BC, LPMT
I graduated in 2018 from Appalachian State University and began my internship in August with Fairfax County Public Schools in VA. I then went back to NC and worked at a private practice MT company before returning to VA to work with another private practice in Fairfax, VA.

In October 2022, I took a leave of absence to begin my journey into full time motherhood. After dipping my toes back into the workforce for a few months, I've decided to return to the profession I love, part time, here in Montgomery County, MD.

When I'm not working, you can find me spending time with my family, baking sourdough, or reading. The holiday season is often busy for me, as I also run Succulent Stickers -- creating stickers, doing embroidery, making jewelry, and so much more!
